Monday, 24 May 2010 09:52 |
It is always dangerous to climb Everest without bottled oxygen, but today several climbers made it, they were Gerlinde Kaltenbrunner (her 13th 8000er!) together with Italians Silvio (Gnaro) Mondinelli, Abele Blanc, Marco Camandona and Michele Enzio. Four tables are already updated, First 2, 10to14, female 3to14 and TOP5 women. Check the tables here.
Report (Italian)
A very rare feat was achieved by Gnaro. Only eight climbers managed it to climb Everest from Nepal and Tibet without bottled oxygen. He is the only European after Reinhold Messner, who made it. This special table is uploaded here now for the first time!
Gerlinde's husband Ralf Dujmovits needed to stop at about 8300 m and waited for her return there.
