1942 Věra Komárková, American lady climber of Czech origin, who ascended Annapurna I in 1978 and Cho Oyu in 1984, both were first female ascents. She died in Switzerland in 2005, aged 62.
1949 Hideo Yamamoto, Japanese climber, who ascended K2 in 1977 and Nanga Parbat in 1997.
1949 Lutz Pfleging, German climber, who ascended Dhaulagiri I in 1986.
1950 Peter Boardman, British climber, who ascended Everest in 1975 and Kangchenjunga in 1979. He disappeared on the NE-ridge of Everest in 1982, aged 31.

1983 Andrzej Bieluń, Polish climber, who ascended Rakaposhi in 1979 and participated in the first ascents of Yazghil Dome SW-Peak (c. 7300 m) and Disteghil Sar East-Peak (7696 m), both in 1980. He died by a fall on Api (7132 m), aged 37.
1989 Ang Lhakpa Nuru, Nepalese Sherpa climber, who ascended Makalu in 1987, Everest twice (1988 and 1989) and Manaslu RP in 1988. He died by a fall during a winter attempt on Cho Oyu, aged 28.
1997 Anatoli Bukreev, Kazakh climber, who ascended Kangchenjunga in 1989, Dhaulagiri I twice (1991 and 1995), Everest four times (1991, 1995, 1996 and 1997), K2 in 1993, Makalu in 1994, Manaslu in 1996, Lhotse twice (1996 and 1997), Cho Oyu and Shisha Pangma Central-Peak in 1996 and Broad Peak Foresummit and Gasherbrum II in 1997. He died in an avalanche during a winter attempt on Annapurna I South face, aged 39. The same avalanche killed his friend Dmitri Sobolev (36), a Kazakh climber as well, who ascended Manaslu in 1995 and Everest in 1997.
2012 Nima Grimen, Nepalese Sherpa climber, who ascended Everest four times (2007, 2008, 2010 and 2012) and Dhaulagiri I in 2009, died in a motorcycle accident, aged 30.
