1873 Luigi Amedeo di Savoia-Aosta, Duke of the Abruzzi, Italian pioneer, who made the first ascents of St. Elias in 1897 and the Ruwenzori in 1906 and attempted K2 in 1909. He died in 1933, aged 60.
1942 Karel Schubert, Czech climber, who ascended Makalu in 1976, where he died on descent, aged 34.
1948 Anselme Baud, French climber, who ascended Yalung Kang in 1984.
