Famous Korean Climber missing
Friday, 21 October 2011 12:32

Park Young-Seok (born 02.11.1963) attempted a new line on Annapurna's South Face with Kang Ki-Seok (19.09.1978) and Shin Dong-Min (13.05.1974). Since Tuesday they are missing and it seems, that there is only little hope for their lives.

Mr. Park had already climbed all 14 Main-8000ers and the Seven Summits and also travelled to both, the North and South Poles, the so-called "Adventure Grand Slam" and Mr. Park is the only climber with this achievement. In 2009 he also climbed a new line on Everest with the two companions, who were now with him on the South Face of Annapurna I.

Update October 31st:

After a long attempt to locate and possibly save the climbers the search ended yesterday. Sadly the three climbers were presumed dead.

Our condolences go to their families and friends.
