New Route Variant planned on Gasherbrum I

Zdeněk HRUBÝ will lead a Czech expedition to Gasherbrum I. The team is going to fly on Thursday (July 9th).


Hrubý is also president of the Czech Mountaineering Association. He climbed seven Main-8000ers (Cho Oyu, Gasherbrum I, Gasherbrum II, Lhotse, Shisha Pangma, Broad Peak and Dhaulagiri I). He was also Martin Minařík´s regular climbing mate (with Radek Jaroš).

Team members are: Marek HOLEČEK, Jan TRÁVNÍČEK, Martin LIŠKA, Jakub VANĚK, David KNILL, Jaroslav NETÍK and Kamil HAVLÍČEK (doctor).

Hrubý and Holeček want to climb a new variant of the Polish route on South West Face! The others want to repeat the Japanese Couloir route.
