On July 5th this year it will be the 50th anniversary of the first ascent of Gasherbrum I! After the same anniversary of Broad Peak last year had a fine celebration in Salzburg, the editor wonders, if there might be something similar for the "American" 8000er. If the American Alpine Club would like to organize something, they can find the ascents list of Gasherbrum I below.
